My name is Roberto del Grosso, Roby for my mates.
I was born in Valsesia –a group of valleys in north east of Piedmont, Italy- in 1952 (nice times…). As a child, one of my first toys was a valsesian fishing rod.
Fishing is in my blood, and – above all- fly-fishing, which I’m practising since ten years now, after having tried every other existing technique functional to my beloved sport.
I fished in almost all waters of northern Italy, however my preference is actually directed to Valtelline valleys’ waters hunting for salmonoids and to the lakes of the plain, searching for pikes, Black Bass, pearches and any other kind of ichthic inclined to attacking a fly.
I’m always at the research of a personal record and – after having achieved it - trying to improve it or looking for more hard antagonists.
This is the reason why I undertook several travels, first all around Europe and subsequently in more distant and remote places as Cuba and USA and Florida.
I wrote several articles and reviews for fishing magazines, which have been publised, with my great satisfaction. Away back in 1989 I obtained the cover of an italian magazin called “Pesca In”.
I love fishing, in both old and new companionships; I take delight in composing amatorial shootings.
