ARTURO ZAPPA

My name is Arturo Zappa, I was born in 1969. In every day’s life I’m an architect but the passion for fly fishing has now become an integrating part of my spare time and, from time to time, also of the professional one... I was born in Como therefore being my home on the lakeshore, it was my destiny to develop a passion for fishing since I was a baby. My adventure with fly fishing started back in 1989 and, since then, I abandoned other techniques focusing only on fly fishing.

My experience improved on fresh waters of Italian and Swiss lakes, on the Como Lake and on the course of Adda river in Valtellina where I developed technical experience both in launch and in bait construction.

Over the last few years, together with my friend Paolo Pacchiarini, my passion for fly fishing has moved from fresh to salt waters and I also obtained boat license.

It is really wonderful when you can put together two passions: one for travel (that I share with my wife) and one for fishing both in fresh and salt waters. I have visited countries with magnificent landscapes and nature and a hard to imagine wealth of fish. I’ve had the chance to fish in our Italian sea, in some areas of the United States, South Africa, Mozambique and Costa Rica beyond some experiences in Austrian and French fresh waters. I’m a member of the IGFA (International Game Fishing Association) and my objective as a fly fisher is to experience the various fishing of species in different climatic situations, developing and widening my culture on the aquatic world and its inhabitants, always trying to match fun and good company.
